I am trying to add an IK solution to this free battle mech model from the asset store.

It is rigged (generic, not humanoid) and has animations, but its missing many of the bones necessary to satisfy the Biped IK or Full Body Biped IK components. I really just want to get the very most basic thing working so I can build up from there. Any recommendations on the easiest approach to adding an IK solution to this?

Hey,

I tried to set up that rig, just had to add new empty gameobjects as hand bones (just parent to the lower arms and move forward to the hand positions). This is how the References should look like:
